The lives of 6 whaling women from New Bedford and Nantucket...in their own words.
A lyrical score that marries composer Jodi Goble’s original music with the historically-accurate sea chanteys, hymn tunes, and lullabies of the 19th century. Whaling Women tells of love and loss-whether at sea-chasing whales and braving the dangers of shipwreck, or on land-managing households and fighting for social justice in their communities.
